giraffe in progress 2

Giraffe in progress

Remember the racing giraffe?

Well, here's an in progress shot of him, as of this morning:

I decided to use the color test head that I did before, and merge it with the drawing. The model...didn't really work out so well. Kind of frustrating, but if at first you don't succeed, try something else and make it work.

Col.Killumagain Reddington!

This is Colonel Killumagain Reddington. He is a simple soldier who enjoys a good glass of port before heading off into battle.

PS: here's the sculpture I started from. I've been experimenting with how little time I have to spend on the sculpture.

50th post!

Wow, 50 blog entries already? How the time flies...

I did a quick color test of my model-in-progress today. As I type this, the head/neck are baking in the oven. This is proving to be a very, very tricky model to build. Mostly because I'm trying to remain as close to the sketch as possible, so this means that my natural instinct of "feeling it out" as I go is somewhat hindered. It's a good feeling, though...and i'm liking what I've done so far as far as the color test.

Anyways, enough talk. Here's what I did today:

I'm pretty excited about how this came out, so...enjoy!

Sculpture head-day 1.

Well hello!

here's an in-progress picture for you all...this is the head of my giraffe. I decided his racing name is going to be "He's a horse of course!".

The basic story line is about a jockey who tries to play off a giraffe as a racing horse. The giraffe obviously has an unfair advantage because of it's long neck.

Anyways, enough talk, more pictures! Here he is!

More to come soon! Enjoy!

another one...new project possibility!

so, here's the next project i'm thinking of doing. Since I don't have any homework anymore, it'll be important to stay busy and work on portfolio pieces. Comments/suggestions are welcome!

NEW!

Hello all!

I'm officially graduated! WOOHOOO! Although, to be honest, it feels REALLY weird to not have any homework to do. I'm excited to get started on some of my own projects!

I made a new portfolio website for my grad. portfolio web class. You can view it here:

http://www.lvdwillustrations.com

Also, for those that are interested in my graduation, my mom made a blog about it. You can see it here:

More to come soon (hopefully)!
